The world today is booming with information. From building a company website, designing a power point presentation, to generating interest through viral advertisements on the Internet, there is no one fixed medium of communication. It is these various forms of applications and technologies used in the mainstream communication that form Multimedia. With innumerable applications across many industries, predominantly across media and communication, Multimedia developer generates and manipulates graphic images, animations, sound, text and video into consolidated and seamless applications, like computer-based interactive training, data presentation and information kiosks, CD-ROMs, entertainment and educational products, and presentations. Being skilled in Multimedia means having a sound knowledge of design of the applications and skills used, along with the correct application of design principles. Equally important is the attitude to be prepared for a rapidly evolving industry.

Course Description

The Master Diploma aims to produce graduates with a broad range of multimedia production skills, in addition to an in-depth understanding of how multimedia and the Internet is revolutionising the current industry. At Digiquest, along with the technical know-how, we also believe in building an understanding of the changing face of multimedia, in relation to both acceleration in the use and development of technology, and its impact on society. The Master Diploma aims to create specialists who are able to create an impact in digital media. From discovering the magic of animation to creating stories of your own, the course aims to build your into a specialist multimedia professional. You can expect to have developed multimedia authoring skills and a knowledge of the interactive communication process that will enhance your employability in a range of professions.

You will be equipped to create projects using a variety of multimedia authoring tools and modalities, opening up employment prospects as a multimedia developer. With the skills built over the period of the course, you will display a high level of competency in the multimedia development and production process and be in a position to work as an independent multimedia producer or as part of a team.

Course Modules

Structured into three components, the Master Diploma course is broken down into the VFX, 3D animation and Editing modules.

1. Visual Effects

VFX is a major component of any multimedia project, and this course module introduces the basics of design and multimedia. Encompassing various techniques including those used in live action movies to creating digital backgrounds, the module aims to give an insight into the processes and applications of Multimedia design. With applications in Television and Post film production, studying VFX builds an essential skill set to work in the media industry.

The course covers motion graphics, rotoscoping, wire and rig removal, keying, 2D and 3 D tracking, compositing, and stereo paint 3D.

2. 3D Animation

From designing concepts through to its production, a multimedia project is dependent on a creative thinking process being supplemented by critical problem solving skills. The 3D Animation module aims to equip the students with the skills needed to bridge the gap between the inception of an idea to its implementation. Learning techniques of modeling and animation, the aim of the course is to build your expertise in all facets of animation, from concept design to production.

This module covers modeling, texturing, rigging, animation, dynamics, and rendering and lighting.

3. Editing

A story, if too long, can lose its viewers interest. Too short, and it makes no sense. This is where the need for the right editing comes in. A familiar term used in the making movies, the concepts of Editing are just as applicable and relevant to multimedia design. The third component of the Master Diploma course, this module encircles the various applications of Editing in Digital Video and Animation. Digital Editing Software and its uses in Multimedia design are explored, along with the techniques used in creating various media clips – from a promotional trailer to an educational short film.

This module covers Motion Graphics, Creating Trailers, Remix Songs, Scene continuity or Dialogue syncing, Multicam Applications, Documentary and Short film editing, and Rendering and Output.
