Children’s film fete to be conducted as State festival

18HYBCS02-CHILD_HY_2553100fThe State Government has decided to conduct the 19{+t}{+h}International Children’s Film Festival here from November 14 to 20 as a State celebration. The district headquarter towns will be made part of the festival.

Chief Secretary to the Government, Rajiv Sharma, directed officials to take the festival to all the district headquarters by arranging film shows and workshops. He told the media relation committees to arrange for hospitality and transportation for delegates attending the festival. Union Information and Broadcasting Secretary Sunil Arora, Chairman of Children’s Film Society of India (CFSI) Mukhesh Khanna, Commissioner of Information and Public Relations B.P. Acharya, Secretaries of Roads and Buildings, Finance, Tourism, Sunil Sharma, A. Ramakrishna Rao and B. Venkatesham, respectively, Director of School Education T. Chiranjeevulu, film actress Amala Akkineni and others participated in the review meeting held on the film festival here on Friday. Mr. Rajiv Sharma stated that 14 cinema halls, including three screens in I-Max, were selected here to screen films as part of the festival. The inaugural and valedictory functions will be held at Lalithakala Thoranam, while the workshops will be held at Bal Bhavan in Public Gardens. Stating that the CFSI had received 1,204 entries for the film festival this year against 984 last time, Mr. Arora said wide publicity would be given on the festival through different media. Chairman of CFSI, Mukhesh Khanna, said he would be stationed in Hyderabad throughout the festival and was ready to visit other places.
