The Aries Group has launched the Aries Epica, a modern studio for VFX and 3D animation, at the Ganga, Technopark Phase III, here.
Set in over 16,000 sq ft, Aries Epica promises high quality 2D/3D animation, visual effects and stereoscopic 3D content conversion.
The studio complex also houses a preview theatre. Aries Group is the 30th company to set up shop in Technopark Phase III.
Aries Group is a consortium of independent firms spread across Singapore, India, China, the UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, Azerbaijan, and the US.
Recently, it took over Vismaya Max, one of South India’s biggest post-production studios with a Dolby Atmos sound system, located at the Kinfra Film and Video Park here.
Aries has entered the stereoscopic universe by taking over Epic Studios, a pioneer in stereoscopic studios in India, renaming it as Epica studio, said Sohan Roy, CEO and founder.
The studio at the Ganga will house the Epica Academy – touted to be the first 3D stereoscopic film academy that boasts modern facilities with motion capturing devices.
The animation and VFX market worldwide is booming and there is a lot of work being outsourced from India, Roy said.
“We aim to tap domestic talent and make them experts in animatronics to meet global expectations. We want Epica to be a gateway for Indian talent.”
In 2014, Epica, along with technology partner Dimenco, launched a ‘glasses-free 3D TV.’ The auto stereoscopic 3D TV allows viewers to enjoy 3D content without glasses. For mor info click here
